Young thespians get a helping hand at Adlib Children’s Theatre in Berwick

ENTHUSIASM is the key to success in the eyes of Donna Dowler.

The Adlib Children’s Theatre founder has more than 25 years’ experience in the industry and is now trying to impart her knowledge to young, emerging talent.

Past productions have included Alice in Wonderland and Robin Hood but these school holidays the theatre will present Sleeping Beauty.

Ms Dowler said the production would be a great learning curve for the aspiring performers she hoped would flock to auditions next week.

“It’s a great experience for them, especially the younger ones,” she said.

“They learn so much from the older ones and we have had them do the full circle – from the young child to lead role.

“We are looking for enthusiasm, someone who can take direction and doesn’t mind having a go, because it’s quite challenging.”

Auditions for the next princess or evil sorcerer (aged 14 years to adult) in Sleeping Beauty will be held Tomorrow at the Starbright Theatre (Berwick Fields PS, 35 Gwendoline Drive).
