ROCK MUSICAL CHARITY SEASON

AUDITIONS JUNE  2015

Adlib is looking actors/singers between the age of 12 and 18 years to be part of their upcoming production of the Rock Musical “Formal”.   The season of “Formal” will be presented in Berwick with all profits going to Relay for Life   First Auditions Sunday 7th June.  Appointment only.

Due to demand auditions are now being accepted by appointment and by video applications.

To submit a video you are required to email your video link (with “Formal Audition” in the subject line) to donna@adlibentertainment.com.au by Saturday 20th June.

VIDEO AUDITION

SINGING ROLE –  Video must include a suitable song and one minute monologue.

NON SINGING ROLE – Video Must include one minute monologue.

Email should also provide us with the following details. Name, DOB, address and phone details.  Also tell us in 50 words or less about yourself.

If you are a performer and want to be part of this exciting production you need to be available on Sunday afternoons (Full Cast calls) and Wednesdays evenings (for music and scene rehearsals) from June to September 2015 (does not include school holidays). This is a unique Australian production, featuring 35 characters, spanning over 10 decades of life in a small Victorian country town.

There are singing and non singing roles available. The funny and touching script is by Donna Dowler with rock songs and exciting ballads by Peter Dowler, the writers of all the musical productions presented by Adlib Children’s Theatre.

 

So invite your friends and spread the word. for a taster, have a listen to one of the great songs from the show.  “Bullet’s Shared” by Adrian Carr, Peter Dowler and Richard Van’t Reit”.

Formal is set at the 100th Anniversary of Marydale Secondary School. At the Formal there are current students attending the dance. It is announced that this will be the final dance and the final year for the school. Through a twist of fate, Jo, Brian. Jeb and Maggie are locked in a cloak room where the rich history of the school and past students is played before them. Many of the cast will have multiple rolls which include being in most of the songs and playing characters from different time periods. Songs, by Peter Dowler are a combination of rock and musical theatre, and although for some roles we are looking for strong singers, just a sense of fun and enthusiasm is what we are searching for.
